Our not-for-profit mission is to alleviate food insecurity and inspire ecological stewardship by offering inclusionary and empowering learning opportunities through research, innovation, and hands-on education at Elk Root Conservation’s Educational Demonstration Farm. Our educational workshops focus on ecological stewardship, wildlife conservation, regenerative organic agriculture, wild pollinator and honey bee wellness and protection, sustainability, and local food security. Over the past 8 years, we have been addressing regional food insecurity while focusing on the sustainability of the food system into the future. At ERC, we apply our organic regenerative agricultural advancements ('ORRA') and groundbreaking food production design we have developed which includes food foresting. At ERC we feed community equitably, producing fabulously fresh local produce cost-free to Indigenous community and other community members in need of a helping hand through the ERC Community Food Box Program.
